Meet Your Teachers

Shauna Nikles


Shauna is a dedicated flow artist with nearly a decade of experience, known for pushing the boundaries of silk fan flow. She began her flow journey with hula hooping in 2015 and discovered silk fans in 2022, quickly falling in love with their graceful, fluid movements. Since then, she has redefined silk fan flow by blending poi, tech fan, and double staff techniques into a unique, dynamic style. Shauna began teaching in 2022 at The Untz Festival and has performed at events like Cascade Equinox and Gem & Jam. In 2024, she launched her first workshop series, Feel Into Flow, and her upcoming series, Silks Take Shape, is already sold out for 2025. With a focus on clear instruction, mind-body connection, and confidence-building, Shauna’s workshops empower students to fully embody their flow and explore new creative possibilities.

Rae Chrysalis


Rae is a professional silk fan teacher, embodiment coach, classically trained dancer, and captivating performer with over 30 years of dance and performance experience. She has toured with artists like Seven Lions and Ayla Nereo and performed at renowned festivals, including Envision Festival, Shambhala, and Lightning in a Bottle. As the founder of Chrysalis Silk Studies, Rae guides students in 60 countries worldwide to explore the art of silk fans–blending dance technique, flow arts, and soulful expression. Known for breaking down complex movements with clarity, Rae makes mastering challenging techniques feel intuitive and accessible. Students rave about Rae’s ability to create a safe and empowering space where they can dive deep, connect with their bodies and movement in new ways, and unlock their most authentic expression.

Q: Is this workshop for all levels?

A: Yes, all experience levels are welcome and will learn something new in this workshop! We do recommend that you have a basic understanding of fan grips and foundations. You can learn these basics in Rae's Intro to Silk Fans online course.


Q: How are the recordings structured?

A: The entirety of the 4-hour workshop has been broken out into easy-to-digest video sections: Rae Part 1, Rae Part 2, Shauna Part 1, Shauna Part 2, and Choreography sections.


Q: How long will I have access to the recordings?

A: With your purchase, you will receive lifetime access to the workshop recordings, so you can watch, review, and refine whenever you'd like!


Q: What length of fans do I need?

A: We recommend using a pair that is 38-48" long. Shorter fans can be used for Shauna's teachings and longer fans can be used for Rae's teachings.
